Children’s Ministry Day—This one day hands-on mission opportunity is specifically designed for kids in Grades 1–6. This is a great opportunity for them to be motivated and engaged in mission action in their own community. Kids are experiential learners and this gives them the opportunity to experience value and meaning to what they have learned about missions, enjoy the fellowship and excitement of doing missions, and to instill a love for helping others. Cost is $10 a person, includes T-shirt & lunch. Date: TBA in 2020
Kids Faith Class—This class is offered to students that have recently accepted the invitation to follow Christ or have started asking questions about becoming a Christian. Guiding children to make those first steps toward faith can be one of the most rewarding opportunities for a parent. These classes are a part of the discipleship process that will compliment what you are doing as parents to assist your child’s growth in Christ. Classes meet four consecutive Sundays and are designed for children, 1st thru 3rd grades and 4th thru 6th grades to discover, learn, and explore the basics of Christianity. Through creative, age-appropriate, interactive teaching, kids will discover what it means to be a Christian, understand the importance of a relationship with God, and recognize the importance of developing their relationship with Christ. Drive in Movie Night—For all ages! You can build any kind of transportation out of a cardboard box. We will sit in our boxes and watch a movie. Popcorn and water bottles provided. Date: TBA in 2020
Spring Fling—Spring Fling is a spring time fellowship for the entire family to enjoy. Boys and girls have fun hunting and collecting Easter eggs filled with candies and toys. Families will enjoy spending time on the church lawn flying kites, fishing, face painting and more. Date: Saturday, April 11, 2020
Parent/Child Dedication—We hold a parent/child dedication service each Mothers Day. This recognizes the new parents and babies in our congregation and encourages all of us to partner in the Christian upbringing of the child. Date: Sunday, May 10, 2020
Vacation Bible School—Next summer, kids will grab their hard hats and head to the construction site with “Concrete & Cranes,” is the 2020 Vacation Bible School theme. In “Concrete & Cranes,” kids will discover how towering skyscrapers are carefully constructed on a rock solid foundation. And by studying five stories from the life of Jesus, kids will learn how they too can build their lives on a sure foundation — Christ and His Gospel. Register here. Date: June 2020, 9 a.m.–noon. VBS Backpack Giveaway—To ease the financial burden for families in our community, Bethel Baptist Church collects money through our penny brigade at VBS. Money is used to purchase backpacks. Bible Study Classes get involved by providing supplies to fill the backpacks and money to purchase supplies. Last year we supplied and filled over 400 backpacks!!!!
Kids Camp—Going to camp helps kids get rid of distractions and focus on going deeper in God’s word. Kids will strengthen leadership skills, gain confidence, self esteem, independence and make lifelong friendships. The cost of camp can be completely offset by fundraising. For 3rd–6th grades. Mini-Kids Camp—This sleepover camp is designed specifically for Kindergarten—2nd grade students. Kids will experience a jungle adventure as we look for the greatest treasure ever. During the jungle quest, children will learn all about the life of Jesus and how they can live their lives like Him! Camp includes dinner of Friday, an adventure to the St. Louis City Museum (permission slip required), ice cream sundaes, a nights stay in the church, and breakfast in the morning. Fall Festival—Good safe family fun. Come and celebrate fall with us. We will have games, hayride, hot dogs, drinks and lots of CANDY. Costumes are welcome. This is an event for the entire family, so please no scary costumes. Date: Friday, October 25, 2019 This is a FREE event.
